Character Profiles

Zeke

RockDogs lead singer, age 17

Leader and vocalist of the RockDogs, Zeke is a fast talking lovable loser who could be best summed up as the master of the grand plan. He's in his senior year of high school. Zeke is a teenager who is obsessed with two things, girls and rock ‘n roll. He suffers from extreme arrogance; but his outgoing extroverted personality wins him lots of friends.

Zeke lives with his grandmother Edna who owns the old house on the riverbank where the Doghouse is located.

Zeke dreams of being a rock star; but really, he hasn't a clue how to do it. If there are two paths, Zeke will inevitably choose the wrong one. Zeke's most precious dream is to become the next Robbie Williams but with the insight of Bono and legacy of Mick Jagger.

Hobbies :
Zeke likes to think of himself as a mechanic and has spent many hours fixing Smegs' car, although Spike usually has to come in after him and re-fix it! He has a love for 1960s American cars.

History and background :
His father was a dock builder and his mother was a stripper until they both died in a fishing accident when he was very young. He now lives with his Gran, a foul-mouthed old lady who always speaks her mind, and who's into extreme sports.

Typical Quote:
"All of Phil Collins' songs suck, but he's sold millions, so it's all in the ‘look'…which at the time must have been ugly bald men".

Eric

RockDogs Guitarist, age 16

Fellow high school student whose high society materialistic parents have high hopes for him to be the next Prime Minister. Eric is usually quiet; he's the logical smart one of the band. His job is to work out all the nuts and bolts of Zeke's grand plans.

Eric is a self-confessed plan-a-holic. He's worked out a recipe for ‘ultimate rock ‘n roll success' and is constantly trying to get the other RockDogs to ‘follow the plan'. Eric is the main songwriter in the group.

Typical Quote:
Not the sharpest tool in the shed… are you?”

Spike

RockDogs Bass Player, age 17

Spike is the muscle of the band; if you have Spike on your side then you're probably gonna win, no questions asked. Mostly Spike lives in his own universe, and in the background, but when he gets an idea, look out! He can't be stopped. He has an uncanny ability to see through obstacles that the other band members can't. He is also the wild, crazy one with an unusual affinity with animals.

Typical Quote:
"Can I borrow a tenner? I'm strapped for cash.."

Smegs

RockDogs Drummer, age 22

At 22 Smegs is the oldest one in the group. He's the dumb one whose hobbies are pumping weights and chasing girls. He's into dance music and can dance like John Travolta. He's also the only one in the group who drives a car; a half restored 1960s Dodge.

Typical Quote:
"Where are the Chicks? I'm sure someone said this place had chicks in it?" and "I'm in, just don't tell my mum"

Edna

Zeke's Gran, age 82

Edna shares her house with Zeke. She is a sprightly pensioner who is extremely foul mouthed and never misses an opportunity to speak her mind. She has a love for extreme sports and has a habit of telling you the same story over and over again. Zeke doesn't believe much of what she says but she's often proved right. She secretly enjoys the energy of punk rock music but conceals it well.

Mr Hendrix

Angry Neighbour, age 51

John Hendrix is the middle-aged man who lives next door to the RockDogs. He's an up-to-his-eyeballs-in-debt shift worker at the local petrol station, and hates their music. Mr Hendrix is married to a flirtatious younger woman whom he's extremely protective of.

Taylor

RockDogs mentor, age 42

A career roadie, Taylor has worked with everyone from the Doors to Elvis, and as the episodes progress will become a mentor to the RockDogs. He gets zapped regularly by malfunctioning electrical equipment but it only momentarily affects him.

Fat Brad

Smegs' friend and ambitious song writer, age 19

Self confessed style setter Bradley, or ‘Fat Brad' as the RockDogs know him, is Smegs' best friend. Bradley is a song write-a-holic and would love to be in the RockDogs as their second guitarist if only they'd let him. He is continually leaving lyrics and CDs featuring his songs around the Doghouse hoping to get Zeke's attention.

Daniel Pope

Woda Records A & R Exec, age 51

Daniel is the new A & R exec at Woda Records, the largest record label in the business. In the pilot episode Daniel tries to sign the Fat Ronalds.
